Special Editions I

Volkswagen has always been a brand that has been based on being different. Volkswagen owners have taken this even further; customizing their cars and forever changing the landscape of the future of the Volkswagen brand. Because of these values, fans have come to expect a few little surprises from their favorite manufacturer throughout the years. This year will be no exception and, as always, Volkswagen has delivered with a smile.

Over the next month or so, we will be highlighting the special editions that will be released throughout the 2013 and 2014 model year. There are a few new additions to the line-up, and these vehicles definitely stand apart from the rest of the crowd!

First off, we have our beloved Beetle. Volkswagen has once again thrown a retro punch into the bug by reintroducing the GSR, originally released in 1973. The Gelb Shcwarzer Renner (Yellow Black Racer) will be fitted with R-Line bumpers and smothered in yellow paint with a blacked out trunk lid and gas cap. Let's not forget the black racing stripes running down the hood!

Jump inside and the fun continues, with a black and yellow themed interior, and leather seats and a numbered steering wheel (only 3500 will be made). The GSR will also be badged on the exterior, as well as the shift knob. The dash will be built around the R-Line dash cluster, and the car will sit on a Turbo with Sunroof and Sound trim level, however it will feature an upgraded version of the infamous 2.0T. This little pocket rocket will be humming to the tune of 210 horsepower! We've featured this car as a new special edition once in the past, but look to see these lightning bugs streaking down a street near you!
